Driving Time to Magnet Chicago - 6 Hrs. |
From Interstate 64 take Exit #86, "English & Sulpher". Turn left onto State Road 37 South. Go one mile to the stop sign at Sulpher, Indiana. There is the "Ole Country Store" here. This is a tricky 4-way intersection. You want to stop and go straight through the intersection onto State Road 66 West . . . but to do this, you must make a little jog to the left about 25 feet, then go straight onto 66 West. Do not make a hard left, or else you will be on 66 East toward Louisville. |
| Once on 66 West, travel approximately 11-12 miles to where you see a sign pointing left, reading "Magnet 3 miles". At this point you leave State Road 66 West, (which makes a Hard Hairpin turn to the right), and you gently veer to the left at the "Y" in the road onto County Road #36. You follow this road approximately 2 miles to Magnet, Indiana. When you see the water of the Ohio River, you turn left onto our gravel lane, "Magnet Valley Road". If you pass the restaurant. (1/4 mile further) you have gone too far. You can see the blue-roofed "Heron's Nest" from this spot, it is the first cabin on the right. Our two newest cabins for 2003 are almost 1/2 mile further down Magnet Valley Road, with black roofs boasting medieval roof spires. Next door to these cabins is The "Bonnie Pearl" with a red shingle roof and also on the right hand side of the road. All four cabins are located right at the water's edge of the beautiful and mighty Ohio River at Magnet, IN. | |
